Zaion's ambition is to become the European leader in artificial intelligence-enhanced customer relations solutions. This Series A financing round, led by Fortino Capital and Truffle Capital, aims to accelerate the company's internationalization and the development of its solutions.
Zaion, triple recurring revenues by 2020 and a new round of funding.
Zaion, founded in Paris in 2017 by Franz Fodéré, announces a €9 million Series A round of funding from Fortino Capital, Truffle Capital, Pro BTP Innovation and Bpifrance. La France Mutualiste, a reference investor for Zaion, is also participating in the deal.
Zaion helps companies improve their customer experience using artificial intelligence. Its solutions aim to:
- improve the customer experience by placing voice at the heart of an engaging, interactive and effective relationship,
- accelerate the digitization of customer journeys by automating the processing of simple, repetitive, high-volume conversations,
- enhance the value of human capital by directing higher value-added calls to advisors,
- reduce operating costs.
The company's sustained growth has enabled it to establish itself as the leading player in the French callbot solutions market:
- more than 1 million incoming calls handled per month,
- 100 callbots in production in 5 languages and 3 countries,
- 50 key account customers in various business sectors (insurance, assistance, mutual insurance, banking, real estate, public services, automotive, transport, telecoms).
Further development of AI solutions and acceleration in Europe.
Already present in Germany and Belgium, this new round of financing is aimed at accelerating Zaion's international expansion in Europe, while consolidating its leading position in France.
Zaion, through its Zaion Lab R&D center, will continue to develop its artificial intelligence technologies:
- Voice AI (speech recognition),
- Conversational AI (natural language processing),
- Paralinguistic AI (gender, age, tonality and emotion detection).
With 80 employees, Zaion plans to double its workforce by the end of next year.
Franz Fodéré, founder and Chairman of Zaion: "After a recurring revenue growth of over 200% in 2020, we want to take the next step and make Zaion the undisputed leader in conversational artificial intelligence in Europe. Voice is the most natural channel for engaging in dialogue with a company or public authority. Starting from this premise, our ambition is to create the customer relationship of the future thanks to AI based on a fluid, engaging, rich and efficient customer experience. I'm delighted to bring on board, for this new stage, investors with a culture specific to Northern Europe and capable of accompanying us in our long-term international development."
Filip Van Innis, Investment Director at Fortino Capital: "Zaion addresses the global conversational AI market, which will reach 102 billion euros by 2026. We believe that thanks to its recognized experience in customer relations and its technological expertise in artificial intelligence, Zaion will transform the customer experience and significantly improve user satisfaction."
Bernard-Louis Roques, CEO & co-founder of Truffle Capital: "The combination of highly specialized skills in automated language processing technologies (comprehension, modeling, semantic and sentiment analysis, restitution) and intimate knowledge of call center operations makes Zaion the most innovative player in its market. Zaion's automatic language processing solution is proving a real success with insurance companies, a field in which the company is already a leader. Zaion's management team brings together exceptional talents and know-how. Thanks to the Truffle ecosystem, we intend to contribute to Zaion's expansion in France and Europe.
Dan Miller, Lead Analyst and Founder of Opus Research, Inc: "The investment community agrees that companies are investing in service providers that facilitate the integration of conversational AI into customer service activities."
